PRACTICE LOCATIONS
One of Naturopathic Medicine's main teachings is to focus on healing the whole person, mind, body and spirit, while targeting the underlying cause(s) of disease.
Many Indigenous peoples have this approach to whole person health and wellness as well. In my practice, I focus on Generational Family Health, and blending the philosophies and approaches of Western and Indigenous medicine in order to assist patients and their families to achieve their best possible health, and live longer, healthier lives.

Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Connors, NDSeratauga comes from blending the Indigenous and English spelling of the word, and roughly translates to “Healing Waters of the Great Spirit”. Seratauga Family Naturopathic was created in order to help women and their families to live their healthiest lives. Naturopathic Medicine is about treating underlying roots of a health problem. In improving the health of women before and during pregnancy we can start to affect the next generations’ health in the most positive ways. Pairing this realization with the natural approaches of Naturopathic Medicine to help people start and raise their families naturally just made sense to me.
I also have experience working with women and their partners as a Birth Doula. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed helping mothers and fathers to prepare for the arrival of their little ones, by providing full support before, during and after labour. I received training specifically in Pediatric Care during my clinical internship at the Robert Shad Naturopathic Clinic, where I regularly saw children, ages ranging from newborn to 18 years of age. I also worked with the Indigenous population at the Naturopathic satellite clinic out of Anishnawbe Health Toronto as part of my clinical internship and continue to do so in partnership with various Indigneous organizations in the Georgian Bay-Muskoka Area. I have several areas of interest including: Generational Family Health, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Indigenous health, Mind-Body Medicine, and General Health and Well-Being I'm also a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). |

One of several tools that I use to assist patients with their health is the Seratauga Weight Solution program. This is not your average weight management program.
I have also provided Birth Doula support to many women and their families in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. I bring my Naturopathic knowledge and experience to pregnancy and birth support, to provide comprehensive care for my patients.

Birth Doula SupportA Birth Doula provides emotional and psychological support for the mother and her partner before, during and after birth. Having a birth doula as part of your birth team can significantly decrease your anxiety and worries about the entire birthing process. As we work together, I can help you to develop a birth plan, which will bring up discussions around the various topics you have questions about: like what to expect leading up to and during the birth of your child, explaining medical jargon your doctor uses in terms you can understand and aiding you through making the tough decisions before they even come up so you're not caught off guard if the unexpected happens. Not to mention the 24/7 support you will receive leading up to and throughout labour and delivery.

Clinical NutritionIf the human body were a car, what we put into our body is like the fuel. Improper fuel in the engine prevents the car from functioning efficiently and may, in part, be responsible for more frequent repairs and servicing, which can mean more illness in the body. There is an ever-increasing body of knowledge that supports the use of whole and unprocessed foods as well as nutritional supplementation for health maintenance, and the treatment of illness. Patients can make positive choices about food intake as well as appropriate nutritional supplementation under the advice of an experienced Naturopath.

Acupuncture and Chinese MedicineThis ancient system of medicine works to optimize the flow of life energy, known as Qi. Through understanding the imbalances of Qi in the body, a treatment plan can be devised to restore balance to the body. This can be done using Acupuncture, Herbal formulas, Diet or a combination of these.
Acupuncture works by finding specific locations on the body and stimulating those areas based on their position in relation to energy channels known as meridians. Alone or in combination with herbal formulations, acupuncture can be helpful in treating a variety of conditions including joint and muscle pain or injury, stress and anxiety, digestive disorders and hormonal imbalance. |
Herbal MedicineHistory shows us that man and animals alike have used plants medicinally since the “beginning of time”. Today we understand that Botanical Medicine can be helpful for a variety of conditions such as anxiety and sleep disorders, immune dysfunction, bacterial and viral infections or even chronic conditions such as cancer. Botanical substances are powerful and often useful to the body. However, they also have numerous interactions with other substances and are best taken only after seeking the advice of a licensed practitioner.
|
HomeopathyThis highly energetic form of therapy uses various substances, in extreme dilution, to help the body restore itself to a more balanced state of being. This powerful drugless medicine is extremely popular in many parts of the world, such as India and many parts of Europe. The mechanism of action is energetic so homeopathy can be used safely with infants and children as well as many patients currently taking prescription/pharmaceutical medicines. Like all natural products, it is advised that patients use these remedies only after consultation with trained practitioners such as Homeopaths or Naturopathic Doctors.

Regular Check InsAs part of your individualized treatment plan we will check in with you regularly to ensure that you are right on track with your personal health goals!
The frequency of visits will depend on your unique needs, but generally speaking you can expect to have 3-4 visits in the first 2-3 months and then approximately every 4-6 weeks going forward from there. We also recommend a yearly wellness check in, just to make sure everything is moving along well. |
Complete Physical ExamsAs part of getting a complete understanding of what’s going on with your health we will do a complete physical screening exam. This includes examining all the major systems of the body from head to toe. We will check: head, neck, blood pressure, heart, etc. I know, your family doctor doesn’t really do this anymore. That’s part of the reason why we do it.
Labs: Additional labs may be a part of your health assessment if this is needed. I will discuss those with you if it becomes necessary. |

Look, wellness is something you need to work at. I get it… but if you don’t do something you’ll continue on the road as you’ve been going – getting worse!! That sucks. Who wants to end up in a senior home or hospital before they’re ready? Not you!
Let’s make your journey a healthy one.
